Responsibility

Certification

NWT must comply with all legally applicable standards in areas such as food safety and labour. NWT’s certifications prove its compliance with quality standards. Through continuous development, NWT ensures that this remains the case. Every part of NWT, every department and every employee is involved. To demonstrate that NWT is 100% committed to all requirements, the company is assessed both externally and internally every year. The certification applies to all countries to which NWT exports.

Food safety

Every day, millions of consumers eat meals containing NWT products. These products must be safe and healthy. NWT’s main responsibility is therefore to ensure the safety of all products in every respect.

To safeguard production processes, the company continuously invests in infrastructure and intensive quality management. NWT follows strict procedures and uses various independent certification standards to improve food safety management, such as QS, QC, HACCP, EC accreditation, BIO, GLN and Beter Leven.

Product integrity

Product integrity is essential for food safety and fraud prevention. NWT’s production, sales and procurement processes are fully transparent and aligned.

Traceability

Traceability in the supply chain is necessary to give our customers the confidence that all other factors, such as animal welfare, food safety, sustainability and product integrity, are in order. NWT and its customers therefore attach great importance to product traceability. Everything that NWT supplies is fully and demonstrably traceable.

Environmental impact

NWT’s production process uses energy to keep products cool and ensure product quality and food safety. This accounts for approximately 70% of all electricity used by NWT. NWT is committed to continuously reducing energy consumption as much as possible without compromising product quality and food safety. To that end, the company is working on energy-saving measures such as the use of LED lighting and energy-efficient refrigerated lorries.

Personnel

NWT’s employees are the company’s most important asset. Maintaining and promoting their health and safety is therefore an important goal. NWT is determined to be an industry leader when it comes to working conditions. The production location has its own Health & Safety Officer. All accidents, near-accidents and high-risk situations that could lead to damage or injury must be reported.
